If you truly want to succeed in marketing, you really got to love it. Be passionate about what you do. Convince yourself that you’re doing the most important job on the friggin’ planet! Not even Barack Obama would’ve succeeded without proper marketing efforts!
We love what we do, with a combined marketing experience of more than 20 years, we try to keep Kursaal Oostende afloat. We fill our days trying to promote great stage spectacles like Mayumana, Tap Dogs, Peking Acrobats, Glow or Bale de Rua or B2B seminars like ‘MBA in 1 day’, ‘The 5/95 Breakthrough!’, ‘Pimp your Departement’ or ‘Invisible Leadership’. It’s hard work, but we love every second of it!

“Because life is an event”Sometimes I feel like my whole life is an event. I probably got the travelling genes in my blood through my father and my showbizz genes through my mother. One was an international truck driver the other a dancer, you choose who was what. At the age of 12 I was in my first play and since then it has been shows and events that have made my clock tick. First on stage with the likes of Aglaja, The Dream and Up With People, later on backstage working on big and small events like the Sand Sculpture Festivals in Zeebrugge and Hardelot (F), the re-design of the event magazine for the city of Kortrijk, the marketing, communications and programming for Kursaal Oostende and the communications and production for The Flemish Primitives.
Running events is basically made up of two elements: production and communication. Over the years I have become more specialised in the communication aspect of events. From 2004 to 2006 I was responsible for the cultural communication for the city of Kortrijk and since 2007 I have been managing marketing, communications and programming for Kursaal Oostende. When running a campaign I focus on the project, not on myself. I listen. I care. I engage. I respect.

“Everything’s got a vibe, just listen”
I’m probably the luckiest guy in the world! Ever since the moment I started working when I was 14 I love every second of it. From my first job at a bakery to what I do now, it’s a great ride and I’m still learning, finding new ways to get things done, meeting inspiring people and having heaps of fun.
After high school I was lucky to start working at the biggest commercial television station in Belgium, I’m very gratefull they gave me chance to experiment, going to work was like going to a local playground, only the toys were more expensive. Together with his buddy Hans he launched enoa in 2001. A small creative agency with a strong focus on photography, design and communications. Though we don’t spend as much with it as we used to, it’s still our little baby and gets enough attention when it needs to. In 2006 I started at Kursaal Oostende and what started as a freelance 6 week assignment ended where I am today, doing marketing and communications for the seminars, trying to guide all visual communication towards a clear goal and backing up Peter whenever he needs me.
Finding something you really love is so special. You just have to stick to it and enjoy every second of it. People always say ‘live your life to the fullest, you never know when it’s done’, the same counts for what you do, not only for who you are.
